Aside from the added comfort and silence windshields offer riders, there’s an additional benefit to using a windscreen when riding:  safety. Over the years, we have heard countless stories from riders who have been spared serious injury (or worse) simply because they had a quality windscreen on their bike or ATV. For example, a motorcyclist was hit with a piece of tire that had flown off of a truck ahead. The bike went down but the rider was spared serious injury when the windscreen absorbed the majority of the impact. On the freeway, things move fast and there’s not always time to react. Windscreens provide a degree of protection that you can’t get anywhere else. While leathers and other safety measures are certainly critical, a windscreen is what’s going to protect your chest from a wrench that flies from the bed of the pickup in front of you.
